Popular actress Kajol surprised her fans on Friday when she shared a mysterious message on social media, announcing her decision to take a break from the online world. Her announcement sparked a wave of curiosity among her followers on Instagram.
In the note she shared, Kajol wrote, “I am currently facing one of the toughest challenges of my life,” and added the caption, “Taking a break from social media.” The 48-year-old actress, who recently appeared in the teaser of the Netflix anthology Lust Stories 2, took things a step further by deleting all her previous posts from her Instagram account. However, her Twitter posts remained untouched.
Within just three hours, her post received over 75,000 likes, with fans and members of the film industry expressing their concern in the comments section. Actress Gauahar Khan, from Shiksha Mandal, wrote, “Prayers! in response to the announcement. The comments section was abuzz with speculations about the reasons behind Kajol’s sudden departure from social media, with fans contemplating various scenarios she might be facing.
As discussions flooded the internet, covering topics from Kajol’s mental health to potential marital issues, some fans even suggested that the post could be a promotional strategy for her upcoming project, The Good Wife.
The Indian adaptation of The Good Wife, a legal drama from Disney+Hotstar, is based on the 2009 American series of the same name starring Julianna Margulies. Writer-director Suparn Verma, who will be helming the Indian version, shared Kajol’s post on his own story and offered encouraging words, saying, “You will bounce back soon.”
In addition to Kajol, The Good Wife adaptation also features Alyy Khan, Aamir Ali, Kubbra Sait, and Sheeba Chaddha.
